Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Sacramento, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across California run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.
Hours are published for 6 days a week. On most of those days it is open 11 amβ8:30 pm. Note that it does not open on Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (916) 882-6888. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, shokuramenbarsac.com.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.5 out of 5 from 250 reviews, which is a strong result for a ramen in Sacramento and suggests consistent service.
Sacramento is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Traffic in Sacramento peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. I got the Spicy Black Garlic ramen and my, was it delicious. It wasn't overly salty or anything, it was great! The shrimp tempura and karaage is always a must and super crunchy, I definitely recommend eating them with the red sauce. The food came out in a fast timely manner, didn't take any longer than 20 minutes. And the atmosphere within the restaurant was great. It was cozy, felt like I was back at my grandparent's being served dinner. Customer service was great and super welcoming, so polite. I definitely recommend if you're looking for a quiet and cozy atmosphere with delicious food. Felt like I was at home.

Soku is a very cute restaurant with tasty ramen, udon, and sando options. I ordered the spicy black garlic ramen and shred spicy edamame with my friends. I thought the broth was delicious, came out piping hot, the meat was a bit fatty, but the meal was very filling. It wasnβt super heavy in garlic flavor which was ok and I added a little bit of chili oil for more spice which was great. The spicy edamame was delicious and came with little pieces of peppers and onions. My friend got the beef udon and I would definitely get that next time because it was amazing and super flavorful! We luckily got a table quickly because it was semi busy and parking was very difficult. Itβs located in a busy area near other restaurants so make time to find a spot to park. The staff were nice but didnβt answer the phone earlier in the day when we called. I would definitely come back.

Need something warm on a chilly winter night? Ramen hits the spot and Soku Ramen Bar is a great place to grab a bowl. We tried the chicken ramen and it was both filling and delicious. No frills here. Just tasty broth, noodles, bean sprouts and lots of chicken -- more so than what you find in many ramen houses. Prices are reasonable. While there are tables to eat on-site, it's easy to order for take out. One note: Parking can be veey challenging. Overall, definitely worth checking out.

First time at a Ramen place, dumb luck π I picked a good one on this rainy Tuesday afternoon in October. Based on other reviews I ordered the Spicy Black Garlic Chashu Ramen. When it arrived 19-minutes later I knew it was going to be tasty and it was delicious. Lightly spiced and well priced at $14.99.

We came from Fresno and decided to stop here for some ramen while in town. No glaze, not trying to be influenced by recency bias, but this is easily the best ramen ive had to date. The pork was perfect and the service was excellent.
